5 HOME REMEDIES FOR SKIN TAGS

Sure there are lots of otc treatments (both natural, and not so natural) available, but what if you want to do it yourself using some simple home remedies? You can! These are just five of the many options you have.

  • Acv
  • Tea tree oil
  • Floss

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)

Apple cider vinegar is probably the most popular skin tag home remedy. If you've been searching for a home remedy, chances are good that you've run across it many times already. So then why bother including it in this list? Is it just because it's a popular option? Nope. ACV isn't listed here because it's a popular option. ACV is listed here because it is an effective remedy. Simply put, it works, and it works very well.

Apple cider vinegar possess acetic acid that is able to burn off the unwanted skin tag. Take a clean bandaid, add a few drops of acv onto the cotton pad and wear it overnight. If you can wear it during the day as well, go ahead because it will only get you results sooner.

You'll want to protect the healthy skin around the skin tag with a little bit of Vaseline though. ACV isn't selective and it will burn any skin it comes in contact with (whether that be skin tags, or healthy skin you want left alone).

Tea Tree Oil (TTO)

Tea tree oil is probably the second most popular home remedy for skin tag removal. Again, it isn't here because it is such a popular option. It is on here because it works. Now, TTO (tea tree oil) works no where as fast as apple cider vinegar does. Acv can you results in as little as one week, but TTO will take at a minimum of two weeks. Realistically, you should give it at least three weeks to one month.

Application is a lot easier than acv though. Just massage a drop or two of tea tree oil onto the skin tag; making sure to get the stalk and the base of the skin tag.

Dental Floss

This is one home remedy that you'll likely want aid from another person. The remedy itself is simple enough and you don't need anything more than clean dental floss. The problem lies in trying to tie dental floss around the stem of a tiny little skin tag all by yourself. Then the problem becomes even more of a hassle if the skin tag is located in a harder to reach place. Take my advice and get yourself some help. You can definitely try to do it by yourself, but you're not going to have a fun time.

To use dental floss to remove skin tags, all you do is tie a piece of dental floss around the stem of the skin tag. Tie it as tight as you can without cutting into the skin tag itself. You don't want to cause bleeding. Leave the dental floss tightly tied around the skin tag until the skin tag turns black. It will get darker and darker the longer it is tied. At one point, the skin tag will shrivel up and fall off with a simple touch. You might not even notice it falling off. Just don't try to use force to pull it off.

Regardless of which home remedy you decide to use to remove your skin tags, there is one thing you must keep in mind; consistency. Don't skip out on treatments because you'll likely end up resetting all your hard work and progress. What is does is it ends up wasting your time. If you skip treatments, you'll most likely end up giving up because it will seem like it's not working (when in truth, you were even doing what you were supposed to do).
